For some reason the enemy CPU will build way too many lumber mills all over a small area. It seems like the devs should setup some kind of specified acceptable distance of a tree patch for where the CPU builds a lumber mill. I go to invade and I find myself running my army through a maze of nothing but lumber mills.

Perhaps we are simply not building enough lumbercamps

Same thing happens in AOE2 DE. You could look at the minimap at the end of a long game and think the AI players have built some sort of megacity but it’s literally 75% lumber mills.
