I can watch the cinematic, but the loading screen after that never shows up, the game just silently crashes to desktop

Funny story, I did a computer reboot not long after this, my bios threw a cpu over temp error, so I blew out the dust, and then the campaign loading screens started showing up instead of crashing the game.
It was after the main menu, and even after the video, but the mission loading hung.
