Crash On Startup as a Result of Resolution Setting Not Being Saved

Issue:

Every single time I launch Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (From the steam launcher), the game always reverts my resolution setting of Full Desktop from Full Screen, meaning it defaults to Full Screen every time I launch the game. This wouldn’t be an issue until it becomes one with the game often crashing when I launch it as a result of the full screen kerfuffle.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Launch the game, from Steam.
  2. Hope it doesn’t crash.
  3. If you let the intro cutscene play out, it’s guaranteed to crash.
  4. Go to Options
  5. See that Full Desktop has been reverted to Full Screen.

No screen shot is plausible unless there’s an error log somewhere that I’m unaware of.
