What about cards? (20)
Yes that includes all upgrade cards.
Sentinels ain’t looking too good there. Also can we talk about how the rocket feels like it never does anything?
30 more res for those stats is so crazy.
RecentIy, I was thinking on something like your idea, and after some investigation onf Wall Guns in real life, its a shame that we don’t see them satisfingly represented in game.
I made some changes like Siege damage and Area attack, but slower
These changes were made to base unit, not to cards. I think all of this may be balanced, but I’m not sure.
Wanna try?
Sure I’ll test. I’m not sure it should be a base thing but I’d like to see how it affects the unit.
If you really wanted to get crazy you’d make it so they can shoot the wall guns by garrisoning in forts and towers XD
A Wall Gun is a giant musket! People, let them be different, they doesn’t have to be a musketeer.
Fighting from a fort would be reasonable, and funny, but Malta already fights with buildings thanks to Fire Towers.
Fire towers is not worth it.
It’s not like the Teutonic Knights card is historically accurate. And neither are the campaigns. AoE3 isn’t meant to be as historically accurate as the other games in the series, otherwise it would have a lot more limitations on unique units.
The unit isn’t really unique right now. It’s a bad soldado. So if you can get “more accurate” and more unique then go for it. Campaigns don’t have to be accurate as they are what they’re supposed to be, historical fantasy. The civs themselves should be at least relatively based in n history tho.
What are you talking about?
Sentinels would suffer from such a change, since 1000 coin isn’t that easy of a transition. What they need is better stats in general, if they’re going to cost 2 population.
The sentinel. Other than their defense boost they’re pretty bland. Even the rocket attack is just stolen from Mexico.
My original post was a starting suggestion, for the rest of the post we’ve discussed through things.
Believe me, there’s most likely other units that are very similar. Sentinels aren’t the only one. But they should be superior to soldados when next to fortifications.
Well this may be one way to do that (hopefully, at least for their cost). In a unique way.
Quick reply. I think they should embrace their cheap soldado identity and somehow being able to mass them strelet style. Maybe the rockets should be able to make them in 10 batches and make them a little bit cheaper
I think you have already argued enough, sentinels are the worst musketeers in advanced ages or in treaty, well, maybe the Italian will compete. I understand that Malta’s design implies an exaggerated number of musketeers, but that weighs down the sentinel a lot, and if I agree they need a super buff to make them halfway decent or at least comparable to the mexican soldado.
My issue with that is it’s not really possible with how pop heavy the Maltese are and it doesn’t really feel good historical-wise.
