I recently bought Age of Empires 2 - Definitive Edition via G2A for my Microsoft store; my friends bought the game via Steam.
Apparently, this game enables cross-play between different platforms. However, we are unable to play with each other. As it turns out my game version is currently 101.101.35584.0 0 (Microsoft Key) and their version is currently 101.101.35584.0 4714640 (Steam).
Is this the error that blocks us from using cross-play? (Cross-play is enabled for all of us)
Does anyone know what to do in this situation?
