ISSUE EXPERIENCED
DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
On Deeds of the Father you can destroy a tower in Player 6’s villages to make them pay tribute to you.
However, if you have ships near Player 6’s buildings and Player 5 raids your coast, kills your ships, it will then turn on Player 6 and destroy its buildings.
Fine, it says I need to defend them.
However, I did not understand what was happening because the text says “Because YOU destroyed one of their buildings they will no longer pay tribute to you.”
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does the issue occur?
- 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS)
############ STEPS
List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!
Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:
- Play Deeds of the Father
- Destroy a tower in a Player 6 village
- Leave only one ship, such as a fishing boat, next to a Player 6 building
- Be raided by Player 5 (Or Player 7, presumably)
- Your ship is destroyed
- AI targets Player 6 building
- See confusing alert
EXPECTED RESULT
What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
At the very least, the text should be changed to indicate that a building was destroyed, not necessarily by you.
e.g. “Because you let a building be razed …”
But since neither of these players actually target Player 6 without the human player effectively baiting them into doing so, I would expect that to always be the case, not just when Player 5 (and 7?) don’t have anything of yours to destroy.
e.g. Player 5 (and 7?) are allied with Player 6.

GAME FILES (SAVE / RECORDING)
Attach a SAVE GAME (.aoe2spgame) or GAME RECORDING (.aoe2record) of the match where you encountered the issue. Link it below if using an external file service.
- It would not let me upload the save, so I put it on mega: here.
