Hi, don’t you think that the Delhi Sultanate, with its free tech production, is too OP in the late game? I’ve watched many games at the Diamond and Conqueror level, and in a large number of cases, despite the opponent playing much better, the Sultanate still won.
The last game I watched: Double Diamond. The Order of the Dragon had 100 villagers, two town centers, excellent maneuvering, strong eco, raids on the opponent, and reached Age 4. Meanwhile, the Sultanate had a stable 55 villagers, also reached Age 4, and in an open fight, the Order of the Dragon had no chance—it was game over.
Why? The overall tech advantage, despite a similar army count. Sure, those techs take around 3 minutes to research, but if you just build three barracks and three archery ranges, everything upgrades simultaneously. The amount of resources other civilizations have to spend compared to the time investment for the Sultanate is completely disproportionate. We’re talking about tens of thousands of resources versus just 3 minutes.
Not to mention the 900 HP elephants that are basically unkillable if they’re protected by any other units.
