Despite using the same engine as aoe3, AOMR feels more cartoonish

People play RTS and complain about ‘‘realism’’

I think that AoE 4 is far more cartoonish than AoM.

I honestly do not think AoM is cartoonish. I do think there is some fantasy to the style of the graphics, which fits within the universe of mythological. But if we are talking about levels of cartoonish, I can definitely think about other games I hate for being cartoonish. AoM is perfect to me.

I also feel like it is wrong to compare AoE 3 and AoM despite them using the same engine. Because the devs are not trying to achieve the same level of realisme that AoE 3 has.

So if they wanted to avoid a cartoonish style, while still achieving a fantastic element to the graphic style. I think they hit the nail on its head.

The entire franchise has been cartoony since its inception. I’m not sure what rose-tinted (Or grey-tinted, I guess?) glasses y’all are looking at your memories of these games with, but the entire franchise is goofy.

Now that the game is out I still can’t see how you can think this game is more “Cartoony” then original AoM or AoE3DE?
Ok it’s a little more colourful then AoE3DE but it’s less colourful then old AoM.

Did you buy the game? Can you make detailed comparison screenshots in the editor between AoMR and AoE3DE/AoMEE to illustrate why you think the game is cartoony?
