No matter the difficulty, nor civ I pick, the AI just won’t build any Siege Onagers. I’m losing my ■■■■ here. A challenge that cannot be completed is not a real challenge at all. It’s just annoying.

I did it easy by playing a Death match game against the AI in a Mongol mirror game on Arena.
I just quit the game after destroying a siege onager with Mangudai. You dont have to win the game. You just need to destroy a siege onager with mangudai.
Dont pick an too easy difficulty, since the AI wont make much military early. I think i used hard or hardest.

Just head to scenario editor, give player 2 a siege onager and give player 1(you) 8-10 Elite Mangudai, say test and kill the SO.
And then exit to main menu and you should get the achievement

You can cheese all challenges…
You can just cheat in the Mongol scenario to get 40k+ points to just get that challenge done. For the Land Nomad challenge you can just start a game against AI and resign when the map is loaded. What other challlenges are part of the Mongol event?
This kind of cheese is possible during all challenges. The challenges feel never really as challenge, because you can easily cheese all challenges.

yeah but i’d rather actually try. besides its fun and i like single player campaign stuff a lot.

Hitting feudal age under 12 minutes with Mongols. For me already a pretty easy challenge, but i tried to cheese this as well: I hit feudal age within 3 minutes.
- Start in death match game in dark age as Mongols.
- Make 1 vill.
- Let two vills build a mill and let one vill build a lumbercamp. Position dont matter, just build where the vills are.
- 4th vill will help building these buildings as well.
- Click on feudal age when buildings are finished.
Result: I had feudal age in 2:50. Quicker is pretty much impossible (maybe just 1-2 seconds if you start building just a little bit quicker than me).

Not possible to do it faster on the “fortress” map? you start with a barracks, AFAIK, sooo only one thing to build — with three villagers you get a mill done before the time to train one villager, i guess?
Dude can already do it fast af, then another comes and tries to cut even more time of something you would do only once lol
It is a bit faster, but wont really has that much impact. At most some seconds. Dont expect to be a minute faster.
Probably also to cheese in scenario editor. Just start with two dark age buildings. Start game with more than 500 food. Immediately click to go to feudal.
Even more quicker: probably also possible with aegis cheat. The result: Just some seconds to finish challenge

It takes them a few minutes to decide to make them, but I found playing extreme against Celts with infinite resources in post-imp makes them start making Siege Onargers eventually, especially if you start making Camels to counter their Paladins and Mangudai.
You don’t need to win the game you do it, so just mass up stuff until they send some Siege Onagers, kill one, and leave.
No achievements will unlock for me, eventhough I have tried all of the above mentioned tips. I even tried destroying a mangonel with un-upgraded Mangudai, both standard game, scenario editor and in the Mongol conquest challange without quitting the game (playing through until I win). It seems to be bugged.
The same goes for the achievement of getting more than 20 000 score on the challenge, which will not unlock either. I also have managed to age up in 12 minutes in a standard game, but that one is not unlocking either. I first thought I had to do the achievements in the order they appear on the challenge screen, but as the siege onager achievement will not unlock, it just seems to be bugged. Perhaps there is some delay? And es, I am logged in to my xbox live account. I even tried logging off and on again, without any luck.

You have to unlock the challenges before those first, and there’s a cool-down time between each challange

don’t worry a lot of people get confused even i did. I was like wait, I have to WAIT 12HRS until i can do the next challenge?! lol
