The game is in a good place but its turning away people in DROVES becouse you have people coming in, thinking hey ill play a 4v4 couldnt hurt right?
Wrong.
At the very least, if matched against an arranged team, the ELO of the not-arranged team should be MUCH HIGHER to compensate. But in many cases, its lower! What kind of logic is that?
If there was a button for “strict solo matchmaking” in team games, this game would be like 100x more popular. It would be an order of great maginitute beyond any DLC/Expansion whatever.
Becouse, at the end of the day if Jeffry comes home and wants to try a team game of AOE4 he’s gonna be smashed so hard by an arranged team he will never care to try again.

Yeah, I doubt longer queue times would make the game “100x more popular”.

There are some very nice people in the official discord. You can ask around the LFG channel or go to one of the community discords listed in the clan channel.
It’s a huge improvement over the matchmaking system. Being able to play with the same players between rounds is very nice.
Failing that, you can also make friends with the people you enjoyed playing with in previous matches. People are generally very open to matching again!
I have no issue with anyone wanting to arrange a team and play ranked ladder.
But the ranked ladder is in an of itself a poor “ranking” system becouse one can get free wins by just arranging a team and playing against non arranged.
Honestly could quickly get up to high diamond doing that.
Its a different game man. Strangers thrown into the fray and making it work is different, anyone who thinks thats the same as arranged team in any regard, or belongs in a ranked ladder with them, is either full of themselves or in denial
