Did they really mentioned the Saint Patrick Batallion and then proceed to not give a single reference in the Mexican civ?

I sincerely had never read the encyclopedia about the irish brigadiers before today. I though it was, well, the Irish brigade and maybe the wild geese and not much more. I was kinda even half-expecting some reference to the USA irish brigade, but, to my surprise, there are more words referencing the irish-mexican Saint Patrick Batallion than are words aboud the proper french Irish brigade.
All nice and dandy until you consider that, for mexican “allied units”, they literally choosed: Spanish lancers, as if Mexico didnt have their own -op- version of the lancer, spanish musketeers, as if Soldados weren’t supossed to depict criollo soldiers from the start, and Tulancingo Cuirassiers, which aren’t even french gendarmes but an already mexican unit in the first place.
I guess, sometimes it is better to laugh.

I mean, to be fair, the Mexico civ was made before Knights of the Mediterranean, which is the expansion that introduced the Irish Brigadiers.

In game, Mexican civ is older than Irish Brigadiers. They are referenced in “Los Colorados” Bataillon (colorado = red, red haired). This is, as far as I know, another name for Saint Patrick Bataillon.
Also, Irish soldiers were one-time helpers. They should be a shipment, but not necessarily a guaranteed unit for Mexico.
Which units, if we don’t use Criollo Musketeer or Armoured Garrochistas should we use?

Fair is fair, although I feel it would have be an easy fix.

Maybe they could remove the criollos (Spanish musketeers) card and instead add a new card called Heroico Batallon de San Patricio, this new card would send 5 Irish Brigadiers and allow them to be created at the bar, the cost of the card could be about 300 gold

Sounds like a good deal to me.
