Small correction: Doppelsoldner does not mean double soldier. The Soldner refers to “Sold” which is the term for a soldier’s payment. For a Doppelsoldner is a Landsknecht soldier armed with an two handed sword, halberd or an arquebus fighting in the front ranks and therefore having a greater chance of death and so receiving double payment. A double sold.
A regular landsknecht soldier would be armed with a pike .
Every Doppelsoldner is a landsknecht, but not every landsknecht is a doppelsoldner.

Well yeah, but in english it can be translated to double mercenaries, but yes you are correct.

Germany as a civilisation represents a Landsknecht army.
Pikeman are the normal Landsknechts and Dopplesöldner are the elite ones that get paid twice (in the game even more) as much. That’s why it makes sense that they are the normal unit.
While the Landsknecht Mercenary represents them working for foreign powers.
The German Skirmishers represent Jägers.

There for I think Germany shouldn’t get German Mercenaries (beside Black Riders) because they just represent Mercenary versions of units they can build anyway. It would help them much more if they could get Mercenaries that fulfil different roles like Musketeers or Hussars (Uhlans are glass cannons) that Germany doesn’t have.

Give us some cool new Mercenary units even if they fulfil the same role as existing Mercenaries.

Highlander, Fusiliers, Stradiots and Mamelukes. The Mercenaries that round up Germans are already in the game.

If Sweden can get the mercenary advantage from Saloon.
Then Germany should get the mercenary advantage from the transport card.
One is cheap and fast, and the other is expensive but powerful. To increase the degree of recognition.
