I appreciate the new naval update. Personally, I’m much less afraid of the seas now. The snowball effect has been somewhat reduced. Also, the addition of resources like gold and neutral ports for trade is a very good move.
But let’s take this revision a step further. The base attack of the docks is only 3. Even with 5 fishing ships inside, it doesn’t put up a significant attack. 4-5 Hulks or Fireships don’t hesitate to attack the dock.
I think the base attack of the dock should be 5.

That’s a bit tricky. You need to see that the dock attack is already enough to be dangerous to a lot of land units, which is really unfortunate.
I don’t really like that feature in general - it makes it even harder to punish “greed” - i also refer to the idea of trying to get in some early feudal aggression with skipping/delaying the dock play. I think it would be way better if fishing ships were just a bit faster, so you can run them away better instead of being able to hide them inside the docks.
I still think the demos are underpowered and also miss the clear role, possibly work together well with fires as a comp against hulks/galleys. But it’s really hard to state things now, it will need some time to let things and metas develop.
I think Hulks should also be more vulnerable to Galleys. Countering Hulks is really difficult.
