Dual resource idea

Last DLC included a new type of forage bush, a papaya tree. Thankfully they did a little homework to remember that papayas don’t grow on bushes or shrubs, it is in fact, a tree. But then, that begs the question, why not use the wood as well?

This made me think, what if there were dual resource objects to work a little like the Poles/Portuguese bonuses.

Let’s say they make a coconut palm. Works like a regular tree with 100 wood, but when lumberjacks cut it to collect wood it also has a separate 15 food on it as well that is collected and dropped off directly into your stockpile, but the wood is still gathered like normal. This would NOT be a whole forest. Just some trees on SOME specific and very curated maps.

Have you ever seen papaya trres used for construction?I sure havent.

This is a fun idea maybe other trees like olives could also have this.

That tree seems very narrow, not as good as oak indeed.

My unbiased side would heavily recommand mirabelle trees, a golden plum mostly produced in Lorraine (80% of the world’s production), that apparently was brought back from Anatolia during the Crusades. Delicious in a pie.

Such type of trees could be a reskin for berry bushes. Not trees you’d use for construction so they should only yield food.

Yeah that wasn’t the point… More reskins wouldn’t hurt, no, but the point was to take a bonus like the Shu’s and apply it to small parts of the map like the middle or some stragglers trees as a bit of variety.
