Improved shading across many weapons to make them look less flat and more metallic.
Introduced black and brown variations of sheep which appear on all biomes. White colored sheep are removed from snowy biomes to improve readability.
Japanese Mounted Samurai have a new shield which is more historically authentic.
Japanese Floating Gate landmark has a new water effect; we’re exploring making further updates to Cisterns to improve their visual appearance in future updates.
I’ve checked most weapons. The changes are nigh imperceptible. The glaring weapons that looked plastic-white are still in fact entirely white. I assume the changed they did was to reduce the shader’s emissive glow, thus making the actual texture come through better, but they’ve done it so slightly it is basically insignificant.
That Japanese floating gate effect was sharing texture with Byzantine’s cisterns, yet they’ve entirely neglected doing the same for Byzantines.
As far as visual changes go, I am very whelmed. Rivers are still using the water texture before the water update, they haven’t added new fauna or any improvement that adds to atmosphere, lighting or any of the sort. I like the new sheep and think the new biomes look nice, yet I wish they came with the civilizations that they were clearly made for. I do enjoy the new prickly pear bushes, but I find it odd that they’re only available in the Greek Island biome when in real life, these are native to the Americas only. I wish they’d made other types of new bushes and also retrofit them into older biomes.
I’d like to point out the change to Mongol’s unpacking specifically at you Gorb. They’ve “fixed” this multiple times, and I can verify it is still broken. I believe they have programmed it so it will ensure Villagers move out of the way, which seems to work. However, if you want to send 5 barracks across the map, they will still somehow find a way to not unpack sometimes. So, I don’t know what is going on over there, but they just can’t seem to get it down.
