Yep, I love Kamayuks. Such a fun unit, and difficult for cavalry civs to react to. I agree they are the best choice when buying gold units in trash wars. They only cost 30g instead of 50g Eagles.
5 gold reduction can be a buff for late game, specially for Mayans with longer lasting resource and El Dorado.
