Empower the Community: Request for API or Static Game Data Access

Hey everyone,

The community has so much potential to grow and contribute amazing tools that enhance the game experience for everyone. However, one big roadblock is the lack of fresh and easily accessible data from the game itself.

We’d love to see API support or a reliable way to access key game data like:

• The Tech tree

Upgrades

Buildings

Units

Right now, some of us are relying on manual workarounds to gather this information, which is both time-consuming and inefficient and can be easily outdated after a patch.

If an API isn’t feasible, could we at least get some kind of static asset update after each patch in a JSON format or something similar? This would allow us to build tools and resources to:

• Help new players learn and enjoy the game.

• Support experienced players in strategizing and improving their gameplay.

• Create content that showcases how fun and deep the game can be.

Providing this kind of support would let the community create guides, calculators, build planners, and more, making the game even more appealing and accessible to a wider audience.

What do you think, devs? Is this something that could be considered? A little effort on this front could go a long way in growing the game and fostering a thriving community. Let’s make it happen!

I fully support this.
I would also like to add the option to extract current models from the game as well as add our own custom models, which would greatly improve the modding community’s options.

I am always in favor of empowering the community. It keeps the game alive, especially a game like Mythology.

Take the example of Rome: Total War 2. The game was dwindling, and if it weren’t for the community creating mods to make the game playable, it would have died out sooner. After everything the community did, SEGA “rewarded” them after the release of the definitive version with a giant exclamation mark in the middle of the screen every time you add a mod, saying: Mods may cause your game to not work properly. Hahaha, it’s impressive how some companies couldn’t care less about their community.

I hope the same doesn’t happen with Age of Mythology.
