Hey devs & fellow Myth lovers - first off, loving the game and all the work that’s gone into bringing it back to life! I’ve been deep into Retold and wanted to share a few feature requests that could make gameplay smoother and more strategic ![]()
1. Double-click Hotkeys for Buildings
Let hotkeys work with single + double click options. Example: press once → selects Town Centre. Press twice → focuses camera on the Town Centre. Saves so much time mid-battle.
2. Hotkey for “Move Livestock to This Location”
When selecting livestock, a simple hotkey to send them to your preferred Town Centre would be amazing — no more digging around the bottom-left UI button every time.
3. Increase Military Selection Cap
The 100-unit limit feels ancient (pun intended). Let us select all military units or raise the cap - big battles deserve big control.
4. Visual Icons for “Random Japanese/Greek/etc.”
Instead of the plain black pic with a question mark, show a faint pantheon icon or show 1-3 of the pantheon gods with a
over the top for “random” picks. That way I don’t have to hover over
every time just to remember who I picked or who other people have picked if random.
5. Treaty Mode Option
Add a customizable treaty mode (e.g. 5, 10, 15 minutes) where no one can attack - so we can build, plan, and actually admire our cities before chaos breaks loose.
6. Nomad Start Mode
Start with a Villager Centre you can place anywhere to create your Town Centre. Nomad in AOM is pretty limited. You’re stuck with 2 maps. Why cant I use any map and allow me to start anywhere I like just like AOE4.
7. Population-Limit Mode Without Settlements
Late-game comebacks are brutal when map control = population advantage. Give us a mode where pop isn’t tied to settlements, so turtlers (like me) can bunker down and rise again like a phoenix.
8. Increase Tower & Castle Caps
Please let us build more! If I want to turn my city into a fortress of legends, let me. Optional higher caps for towers and castles would make builders and defenders very happy.
Thanks for reading - these tweaks could make Age of Mythology: Retold even more epic for both casual and competitive players.
Let’s keep the myth alive!
