Feudal MAA issue

If you don’t want to play feudal, one of the best ways to deal with MAA is to play tower defense and go fast castle…

But all civs has something to counter them

China has better towers and barbican
Deli can wall without vills, and schoolars cans heal your units (not to mention free blacksmith upgrades)
France has a really fast early knight, so probably you will see spearmen rather than MAA
Rus, it’s almost unraidable early game and also has early knights
Abassids, have a lot of extra food to make units or age up early and camel archer is good against heavies

Tbh, it issue isn’t feudal MAA.
The issue is that there is simply no hard-counter against Heavy in Feudal.

All this could be easily solved with Feudal Crossbowmen. I dont see why?
Crossbows are still much weaker than archers, slower fire rate, and archers and horsemen hardcounters crossbow pretty efficiently.
They are mainly there to deal with Maa and knights supportivly.
