Fire Lancers still need nerf

It’s a raid unit?? why would you lower its raid potential by lowering it fire damage??

It is a bit too much i think, it was cancerous before with high charge dmg AND this torch dmg. I personally would like to see torch dmg toned down with better stats overal.

If it were a feudal age unit, or you only had to get to castle age once, it might have a role like that, but it’s so hard to produce them when you have to get to castle age twice to be able to even start making them. If your opponent is constantly attacking you and forcing you to make military it’s going to be late in the game before you can even start making fire lancers, and at that point they can’t do a thing against a wall of knights and keeps defending a base. Mongols maa are just a massively superior version at the moment, because their +5 torch damage is still enough to be effective against buildings, but they don’t instantly die against any real units, and if you see multiple keeps you can just back away a bit and use the maa to build rams. Plus you only have to get to castle age once to start massing them, the +5 tech is cheaper than getting to castle age a second time, and while massing them without the +5 tech you still have useful units for defending your own base.

This entire discussion, is failing to take into account their mobility. You can’t micro spearmen enough to counter and all fire lancers do is charge and then retreat.

There still broken and just need to be removed entirley from the game. Imho it’s obvious that there design just breaks the overall game. An aoe splash that has no drawback. They go super fast, have decent hp, insance torch damage and are increadibly easy to produce and cheap.

When did you see FL in pro game? Useless unit beyond huge pay wall.

Base speed of 1.5 tiles per sec? Meanwhile horseman have a base spees of 1.88 tiles/s and knights have a 1.62 tiles/s. With the 15% speed boost thr fire lancer fors up to 1.72 tiles/s. Also they have no initate armor so you can shoot them down. Lastly they dont attack stone walls.

Maybe in teams they might be scary but in 1v1 even match they’re niche.

Still haven’t seen them win a game since their initial nerf.

How about deleting china from aoe4?

The unit is fine right now. The main purpose of that unit is to raid and destroy buildings which they do really well. They are not meant for being used in combat.
You can easily deal with them with knights now and there are loads of counter play options to use against them.

They’re not OP, if anything they’re the weakest of the Chinese units. I think the Chinese could use a lot of balance changes with the bombard being the worst offender but the fire lancer is fine.
