Firelancer's nerf

I doubt aoe2 is balanced. Not single PvP game is balanced especially games that try to balance around multiple different modes.

Im not familiar with AOE2 websites that report winrates and statistics so this place might be bad place to check but https://aoecompanion.com/stats/civs/franks seems hardly balanced at all. :smiley:

PS its so dump to nerf firelancers for sake of TG’s and casuals.

Your exact comment can be applied to everything. You clearly hated FL and hate landmark sniping so you think its not balanced but when it comes down to things that you might enjoy like HRE ridiculous landmarks then those are fine.

A lot of players play primarily team games. Most of my friends play mainly team games and will only log in if there is someone for them to play with.
Even if devs prioritise 1v1 and high level players when it comes to balance, if something is broken on team games and/or lower level players and it’s ruining their fun then it should be adressed as well.

Im not saying it shouldn’t but it creates paradox. If you nerf thing X for sake of casuals or TG’s but its not as strong in 1v1 or in pro level play and if the 1v1 is the priority then its wrong way to do things. Yes they can do reworks and change units or even change rules of TG’s.

But they need to make up their mind they cant have it all. If they keep doing things this way then game becomes mess.

Simplest and best way to achieve most optimal level of balance is actually focus on one thing only and balance around it in way its simplest to do. If they go overly complicated and multiple different modes then it just is big mess.

you misstyped, you should say, that aoe2 has only one civ. enjoy good data: Franks - 1v1 Random Map | ALL - aoestats

civ’s are highly depends on map. it’s OK for Random Maps. +2 deers=RUS dominate if +2 berries=Abbasid.

Frank’s WR vs Portugees is useless data(look at WR weighted by map), also noone will pick Portugees on Arabia, It’s how it works.

And again, it’s “map” bonuses, not some unit are OP.

Still not balanced so they didn’t have game balanced. If game is balanced then it means that every civ is as good as another on any map. Thats the balance. Not some that 1 civ is good with hybrids and on landmaps its shit. Also with balance it won’t matter which civ player picks they got 50% chance of winning always vs any civ

Dude the opponent has no army + opponent had lost the water. Your FL argument is so bad. We can replace those FL with lancers or horsemen and game would’ve been over… Love it how you nitpick situations that are completely irrelevant. Which is always case with you.

I did this same thing just in my last game with spears + palace guards. Just stormed to opponents base with mass of infantry and torched landmarks…

I don’t know if anyone did any caculation on firelancer’s nerf.

siege dmg nerf 33% means : 4FL dmg in new patch = 3FL dmg before
total resource spending for each increased from 120 to 160 now.
so rate of nerf on seige dmg is actualy: 3X120 / 4X160. 360 / 640 = 56%. it’s more than half.

Yea a few mechs giving insane power to few civs. e.g Clock Tower is victory condition for china. HRE has age 3 landmark with unlimited gold. Dehli elephants animation canceling etc.
