Having one instance of a mechanic across the genre doesn’t make it a thing. That makes it an exception.
It is primarily a moba thing, because it is found more often than not in those types of games.
The only problem with archers in my view is that you can stack 40 or however many you have on 1 tile next to trees and make them invincible, this is really annoying! 11
That makes them a super easy target to Onagers tho
