My favorite setting. Lots of variety from tribes that don’t know metal to rifles and howitzers. You can even have some fun here using animals as an army (I would like to see this feature expanded). The card and revolution system increases the number of nations threefold. Bandits and mercenaries. Explorers. Very beautiful shootouts, destruction of ships and buildings.

Well , I was into AOE III back on 2011 because my old pc couldn’t handle … Its not the best of the series but the background ages was perfect , the jump on an 3d engine (like AOM) and damage model system blow my mind.
The cards system wasn’t bad either , but unlike the DE to unlock the cards on the deck you must earn it , now its all free to take it .
The Wars of Liberty mod was the pinnacle in terms of modding the game and the majority still playing nowdays.
Perhaps the mistake was the campaing in the original 2005 and the warchiefs exp. in 06 , to much fantasy unlike the Asian Dynasties (at least Indians and Japanese).
The music is simply perfect (as all the series) , and even more I can play with my own country
Its sad to see how slowly be forgotten like Age 1 : ( and I hope 2025 make their return on the 20th anniversary.

Cards are so cool. My brother makes fun of me for not playing other games but now with all these revolutions, there are so many option I never get bored.

It’s the best game in the series by every metric, with the worst communications/marketing team by a long shot. That’s all.

The Warchiefs was already more historically correct…you know American Revolution (Fire) and Wars against the Sioux (Shadow)…in 3 DE they ruined Shadow by making it a western campaign…
It won’t happen anymore…
