Because of something called balance and good design.
They lack Bloodlines but their Paladins have the highest amount of HP with 192, other just at 180. (Without even taking into account the absursly good Frankish eco, Chivalry and team bonus).
Also is 20% more HP not +20HP

that makes no sense doing it like that though. I would unlock bloodline and then give 10% or something

ALso CUmans lost their Speed bonus for mounted units. WHY?

That would be a nerf, because bloodlines costs resources and time to be researched

They still have it

But it’d also be a buff because kts will have 130 hp, cav 152, and paladin 196…

What are you smoking? Cumans have had their speed bonus nerfed like 50 patches ago.

They don’t get +20HP, they get +20% HP.
It’s a better version of bloodlines for free.

but why it makes no sense? It makes perfect sense: they have a better bloodlines for free.

This is one of the most wtf threads in the topic for quite a while.

I especially like how it plays out with scouts. They start ahead of the pack, but if feudal age drags on long enough they can end up just a little behind. Knights are then equal except for the saved cost, which can be big in early castle age, and in imperial age the bonus starts picking up again. It’s a nice dynamic bonus that gives you something to use and think about in every age.

Better for knight line, worse for scout and cavalry archers as they have less than 100hp so bloodlines adds 20 fixed, the franks bonus adds less (only 12 for light cav and heavy cavalry archer).
But who goes HCA with franks?

The sign clearly says «Don’t feed the troll»
