I’m having the same issue. While I am on a laptop, it is a core i9, 32gb ddr5, and rtx 4090 w/ 16gb of ddr6. I should be able to run the game in 4K (running a little lower at 2560 x 1600 as is max of the screen), and while that would make the fans put in work, the system itself should be saying, “thank you, sir, may I have another?”. I have even turned some of the graphics settings down. Has anyone had success with other changes?

Getting the issue as well. Thought it was a multiplayer issue since I was mostly playing that since latest patch but i’ve now noticed it happen is singleplayer too.

I am having the exact same issue as others it seems.
At least in the first 20 min or so of the game (usually RM 1v1 arabia, single or multiplayer) I get lag spikes at nearly the same times.
- The first is between 1:20 - 1:35 min
- The second is sometime between 6:30 - 7:00 min
- The third is spaced between 16:00 - 18:00 min
I do get other lag spikes but have not been able to discern a pattern.
I would love to know the cause and whether it’s internal to the game and unrelated to my PC or whether it’s internal to the game and for some reason my hard or software is having trouble with it.
Becasue the lag spikes are generally non-random, I doubt that the issue is solely with my PC.I have also never had any lagging issues with the game before, so this is quite new.

After some testing tonight, it seems like it may be related to when the game autosaves or some action around there.
I played a skirmish game against 1 AI opponent and every 5mins, give or take some seconds, the game would freeze for a couple of seconds. I tested it around 10 times. When the freeze ends, I’d hit escape and “Load” then checking the time of the last autosave and it matched the current time i.e. the time of the freeze (albeit 1hr behind because it must save it as UTC/GMT and I am currently in BST, which is +1hr).
I tried disabling Steam’s cloud save option, that didn’t fix it. I tried deleting the current autosave files, that done nothing.
Hopefully it gets looked at soon as it is very frustrating.
Would probably be helpful if others could confirm the same test.

Single player campaigns are freezing on my xbox. I mean the water continues to animate and the sound plays but everything is stuck and I can’t open the menu.
Experiencing the same issue on my PC ever since the new update arrived

Same for me. I’ve never had any problems like this before ever, but they started occurring in the same kind of time spans as jimmyjames59 stated:

However, sometimes they do seem to happen other times as well. Usually a couple of seconds, but can be longer towards 10sec. This is both for multiplayer - ranked 1v1, tg and custom lobbies as well as single player. I’ve tried uninstalling all mods and following restarted the game, but these freezes remain. Windows is up to date as are my Nvidia drivers.
To the strange part. I’ve tried playing on two different accounts and on the alternative one I am NOT experiencing these lag spikes. To reiterate, this is with and without mods. Please do look into this.

Freezes happening to me as well. Even after formatting my HD and reinstalling windows 10 and the game… same. Though it could be due to just 1gb free space on HD, but same is happening with +50 gb free space. Ranked is unplayable

Same here this sucks!! Freezes for 6/7 seconds before fast forwarding to live. Unplayable. Also had a few outright drops which I never had before the patch. Please hotfix!!

Same here both quick play or ranked or even against ai this happens. I hope they fix soon.

Just to make it clear, I have absolutely zero issues when playing SP on an alternative account (will try mp tomorrow), despite having the exact same mods and settings. Could someone else who also have this issue try on a secondary account and see if the problem remains or if it’s fixed?
just tested this with my 2 accounts my main Ganjii x freezes for around 2-5 seconds at around 1.40ingame tried with my other account Cogadh! that doesnt get used and no freezes what so ever.
Can people that are having the issues sign out from the xbox account then play and see if it fixes it for them?
last Edit, i deleted campaign saves that were on the cloud at the same time and seems to have fixed the issue not sure if it was that or signing out from the xbox live at the main menu

Same issue here, it freezes and then speeds up to catch up. Happens both in ranked and singleplayer.
The first instance of it happening in every match is when I send my 7th villager to hunt the boar so I think there is a timing issue, it then keeps on happening.
