I have been a player of aoe2 for the last 2 decades, and have over 2000 hours into DE, though more recently I have not been able to put so much time into the game.
When I do get some time to play, I am unable to actually play past 20 minutes in a lobby game. It always freezes and loses connection to the server, then kills internet across my entire network.
This is not an issue with my internet or network. The router was up and running for 2 weeks with zero issues, I launch the game and less than 20 minutes in game and it does this. Reboot the router, reconnect and go again, same thing.The game is causing some kind of network hard crash/ network reset.
There have always been this type of issue since DE was released, but it seems to have gotten significantly more frequent since the xbox release happened.
Additionally, the lobby browser is in the worst shape it has been for a long time. Scroll bars have disappeared from the UI, ordering lobbies by player count does not order the lobbies as it should. Then there’s the fact that lobbies just don’t show up at all, as if there is a limit on the number of available lobbies and any outside of that count cannot be found.
I haven’t bought rome. I will not buy another expansion until I see some stability return to the game, network issues resolved and lobby issues fixed. So probably no more expansions for me.
