Fun buff for Bulgarians: 2x Garrison Capacity for Siege Units

Bulgarians are kinda bad at higher elos right now, but are relatively fine at lower skill levels.

So, they need a buff that mostly helps them out at those higher elos. What better than more garrison capacity for rams and siege towers! They already have siege bonuses, so it would actually be pretty on-theme for them!

2x garrison capacity on rams would give them +0.6 speed total, which would be equivalent to a Mongol fully-garrisoned ram with Drill. This would allow them a bit better ability to navigate around archers, which are currently their greatest weakness.

2x garrison capacity on siege towers would give them +1 speed, which would be 0.1 faster than a mongol siege tower with Drill.

This could be a fun and unique way to make them a bit better at higher elos, without making them too OP lower down, where players tend to lack the micro to use these bonuses to their greatest extent.

I think it’s useless at all elos basically, because it’s not helping with their actual issues. Bulgarians are forced to make something happen early on, otherwise you’re playing without any amazing bonuses and just fall behind. If you don’t use the Krepost/cheap Blacksmith upgrades/free Militia upgrades, you can’t really keep up with most civs. This doesn’t do anything to change that or give players a way to comeback from falling behind. So no, I don’t think this will help at all in basically any way outside of a few niche meme strats.

I would make something much simpler honestly as that feels live very situational and minor anyway

Buff konniks, make them a real power unit like leitis or monaspa, but not broken like monaspa lol, but a main asset for the civ, and make krepost able to research elite

Then i would give them either a small but early eco bonus, or something to help their Castle Age transition like cheaper siege workshops

A general buff to the militia line would be always welcomed and would help bulgarians indirectly

Bagains could be made more versatile, and instead of giving +5MA it could give like +2/+2 armor and maybe 10 HP, to make a truly tanky THS

The way I see it, it really helps with one of their biggest weaknesses in the late game, which is defending their existing kreposts from trebs. Since they usually sacrifice a lot of their Stone to make those rather than castles, they then fall behind in the Imperial age.

Allowing them to have faster Rams would allow them to zoom in and take out those trebuchets more effectively, something I have seen win games recently. For example, recently survivalist managed to take out six or seven trebuchets, which instantly won a game.

I would prefer the idea someone else had where infantry blacksmith techs affect cavalry also (with the cavalry techs obviously being unavailable). It synergizes very well with their other blacksmith bonuses, saving significant resources, and also makes upgrading the Konnik and the other Bulgarian units faster and more convenient.
