Game broken for 54 days

It’s been 54 days.

54 days since the game became unstable for a large part of the Xbox player base. 54 days of crashes mid-game, invisible units, and matches that simply can’t be played reliably to completion.

This isn’t a minor inconvenience — it fundamentally breaks the experience.

What makes this especially frustrating is that Age of Empires II: DE on console is genuinely a great adaptation. The work that went into making it playable and enjoyable on controller is impressive, and that’s exactly why this situation hits so hard. People care about the game, they want to play it, and right now they simply can’t trust it.

It’s hard to understand how an issue this impactful can remain unresolved for this long without clear communication. Even if the root cause is complex, the absence of visible progress or temporary mitigations makes it feel like the problem isn’t being prioritized.

The community isn’t asking for perfection — just for the game to be stable enough to play. Crashing mid-match after investing 30–60 minutes shouldn’t be normal. Fighting invisible units shouldn’t be part of the experience.

At this point, what’s needed is clarity:

  • Is this being actively worked on?
  • Is there an identified cause?
  • Are there any short-term measures planned to reduce how often this happens?

People are frustrated not just because of the bugs, but because of the silence around them.

This is a great game. That’s why this matters so much.

I think they should get somebody who has the authority and desire to communicate to… communicate.

That’s right. It’s unbelievable how after 56 days we still don’t have a communicate other than “we are aware and working on it”, and that was like 30 days ago.
