Issue:
The game crashes after about 15-20 minutes when playing with friends. We have played a 3v3 with bots. We have used and swapped many different pantheons, units and abilities in this time. This happened 3 times in 3 separate games. The game simply crashes with a box pop up which referee to a sync error. I will try and get a screenshot or more testing done if needed.
Repro
Simply play an online game with 3vs3 (unsure if it happens with other configurations) and play for 15-20 minutes. Cannot work out a specific trigger at this time.
Can confirm too. Was exited to play with my friends today over the weekend but we kept getting Sync errors. The more players the more it happens. Once we were 6 in the Lobby it happened around 3~ min mark tops.
Guessing it is due to no dedicated servers and being peer-to-peer with some tuning needed.
Same issue here, but I play in Steam
Happens in “browse server” type of games (many people told me that ranked has no such issue)
Disabled all mods and reinstalled the game
Latest Windows 10 updates
1604 in game benchmarks
Updated Drivers for Nvidia card
Happens in almost all multiplayer matches
Cable connection 100mbit speed
I play from Europe but mostly on American servers
1.Different time zones
2.Firewall (You can try to play in LAN ,turn off firewall and try with same settings 3vs3AI and see what is happening) How to fix the UNKNOWN ERROR / SERVER ERROR in a LAN Game in AOE II DE (youtube.com)
3.All players must check this box in their settings “Allow Cross-Network play”.
4. Slow internet (one of the player has bad internet connection)
5.Game trying to sync states across clients, and they don’t match
6.AI script (memory leak-errors in script)
7.The mods installed by some players
I played couple of 1v1 in quick match without desync
It seems syncing issue could appear between any players in lobby at any point and would result all players in the lobby to disconnect
Lowering amount of players in the lobby would also lower the chances of error happening
