:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
Game crashes when loading a skirmish match. The map loads but gives me a long error message. If I click out of it the game runs for a few seconds and then crashes. I’ve tried it on two different PCs with two different graphics cards, and it happens every time. I’ve tried re-installing, updating drivers and runtime software. AMD RX 5500XT, and Nvidia MX 350 all had the same issue. The game is unplayable.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Load game in skirmish mode. Any civ or map.
  2. Watch map load and then crash with the same error message.

Hi @GeologistJoe

I recommend you to try some stuff:

  1. In steam, Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of game files
  2. Unable your mods ← I think this is the most possible issue
  3. Delete your user files

For deleting your user files, you should:

  1. Go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\Games\Age of Empires 3 DE
  2. Copy your user folder to a safe place, it has lots of numbers.
  3. Delete the original and open the game again. A new user folder will be created

If this works, then copy back the files from your old user folder.

If that does not work, please contact with support:

https://support.ageofempires.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Let me know if it works!
