GAME INFORMATION ISSUEThe game no longer opens after the very first loading image.
It’s extremely frustrating to have an event happening, I decided to play the game to get the event rewards and now I can’t get anything because the game doesn’t even want to open to begin with.
Getting really tired of the game’s constant glitches not allowing me to ever play it.
I got exactly the same Issue. Since last patch, i can’t load the game…
When i click on 'play" on steam, game seems to start, then load the first image and then the game is closed and that’s all…
Very bored of this, thank you to find a solution !
exactly the same issue here. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times and have cleared the “launch options”.
please help before the current event is over as we dont want to miss out
interestingly when i boot into linux on the same computer and run the game through wine it does actually open (although the performance is too slow to be really usable)
The fact that the game does not open is something of a mod.
Go to the mods folder (C:/Users/YourUserName/Games/AgeOfEmpires2DE/YourSteamID/mods) and open the .json file with notepad. Everything it says enable = true change it to enable = false
And then you go testing when you can enter to see which mod is causing the problems.
For a friend, what was causing the problem was the mod of the night start menu.
