I just bought this game and for the first 2 days i was playing just Campaign + Art of War. I finish the entire Art of War section with 0 issues and with stable 60fps and low-medium settings. Campaign also had no problem.
Then I tried to play 2v2 with a friend against AIs. After about 10 minutes in game the refresh rate dropped in a matter of a millisecond from 60fps to 40. Then to 30. I noticed that when I approached the camera to any building even if it was a single one in the middle of nowhere my fps would drop. Looking at plains or even lots of units didnt seem to cause fps drops.
Later that day I investigated the issue a bit further and I realised that even if I set up a 1v1 game this can happen at the first minute of the match. And it seems to be connected to me opening the settings and going back in game. It seems that anything that drops the game fps under 40 for a few milliseconds causes the screen to lag a lot when viewing buildings (or even a single building).
I tested this a few times and the pattern was clear. I can play campaign and art of war with no problems. It doesn’t happen there. But in skirmish or multiplayer… A single action can trigger chaos…
My rig is not perfect but definitely not that bad to cause lag with 2 buildings in the map:
GPU: RX 6400
CPU: i5 4590
RAM: 16GB
I tried to verify the game or reinstall drivers or test previous drivers. Nothing worked. It really seems like a weird bug but I can’t tell for sure. Any help?
