Since the new Update 81058 was installed automatically by Steam the AI-Mode for original “CD-Version” isn’t working properly anymore.

When a AI-CD-Version-Opponent changes his diplomatical status to you the game freezes nearly everytime and cannot be restored properly.

  • 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS)

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Start an offline game against AI-Opponents “CD-Version”
  2. Choose eight of AI-CD-Version-Opponents, so that one might offer you to join your side for 500 in wood/stone/food/gold or wanting you just to pay 100 to you …
  3. Pay them or do not pay them (doesn’t matter)
  4. As soon as the opponent changes his diplomatical status to you to either “allied” or “enemy” the game freezes / jammes

This problem still exists even after the Hotfix 82587 was installed!

Game is still bugged. After AI changing diplomatic status game freezes / crashes everytime!

Sorry for the delayed answer, I had a lot of work and no time for AOE2.

I already played the game to provide the requested file to you.

I attached two files to this message, one BEFORE the bug happens, and one AFTER!

If you open the file “BEFORE” you have to pay 500 in each unit, gold, stone, wood and food to the neutral opponent. As soon as the opponent changes his diplomatic status to you the game strutters / freezes and becomes not playable anymore.

The second file attached is AFTER I paid the tribute. So the game already has jammed and it took me some nerves even to be able to save that one. → This is the attached file “AFTER”.

I hope you will be able to fix that thing. AOE2 is a great game, but after the big update it’s sorely messed up.

After installing AOEII Hotfix 85208 I tried to play the game as I used to. Unfortunately nothing has changed. The bug still exists, as soon as an AI-opponent changes his diplomatic status to you the game strutters / freezes.

Please could you fix that issue or create a possibility to remove the big update 81058 by choice.

Since update 81058 the game is terribly messed up.

Of course I attached game files again, gameplay with latest hotfix 85208, one file BEFORE and one file AFTER the game jammed. The file AFTER the bug appeared is comparably incredibly large.
