Game freezes occasionally and I can't control units

:point_down: My game will sometimes freeze after about 90 mins of play, but somewhere I think the game thinks I resigned which i didn’t so I lose control of all units and buildings but everyone else in the game still has control of their units and buildings. I click on units and buildings but they don’t get highlighted. So far it has happened to me twice. It’s very frustrating when you’re winning the game by a huge margin then lose control all of a sudden. I have a video of the footage but I’m not sure where or if its possible to upload the video here.

Not entirely sure how this bug can be reproduced but on the 2 times it has happened so far its been a game of 8 players, both times it was a 2v2v2v2. It normally occurred after around 90 or so mins of play. So far its only happened to me on closed land maps. In both cases I seemed to have been the only one who lost control because my ally was still able to send me messages thinking I had gone AFK. So in terms of reproduction playing a 2v2v2v2 game on a closed land map might trigger it.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

Hi @DantheMan4896 !

  1. Can you try to verify your files in the Steam Library? Age of Empires II → Right button → Properties → Local files

  2. Can you try to disable your mods? And restart the game after that.

  3. Can you upgrade your graphic drivers and check Windows update?

  4. Can you check if checking or unchecking the V-Sync checkbox in the Options improves your performance? Modifying the FPS Limit and making it closer to your monitor could help too.

  5. Can you try to close as many programs as possible before starting the game?

  6. Can you disable Enhanced Graphics?

  7. Can you try to add the whole game folder to your antivirus’ exception list? C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\AoE2DE is the default, AoE2DE_s.exe is there.
