:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

When I replay a game it will load me in as spectating Gaia. I am unable to change from Gaia, the drop down selector does not expand and I can not change to another player. I can use the basic replay functionality (play, pause, FOW toggle, etc.), but I can not select the menus in the top right of the screen. The only way to exit the replay is to press the ESC key to bring up the menu.

When this issue is occurring there is a constant clicking sound as if I am selecting something.

The issue has been persistent since I have purchased the game in August 2019, I have just been slow to report it as I only recently started watching replays. I have no mods enabled and have reinstalled the game several times to try correct the error.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Open game.
  2. Navigate to game replays.
  3. Start replay.
  4. Issue will begin immediately once replay is loaded.

Be able to spectate desired player and change POVs.

Currently there are some issues selecting players on replays but I recommend you to try some stuff:

  1. Deleting your user files. For deleting your user files, you should:

a. Make sure that your Steam Cloud is disabled in Steam, AoE2 game, Properties, General.

b. Go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE.

c. Copy your user folder to a safe place, it has lots of numbers.

d. Delete the original folder

e. Verify your files in Steam, AoE2 game, Properties, Local Files.

f. Open the game again. A new user folder will be created.

If this works, then copy back the files from your old user folder. Those files are in the folder -C:\Users\YOUR_USER\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE<0>\Savegame, Recorded Games and Save games.
