Does anyone with real understanding of the aoe2 DE engine know if in theory they made models and assets for buildings and trees in every angle could they ever make it possible to rotate the camera in game? Some kind of psedo 3d version of aoe2?
They did make 3D models, but AoE2 will never be able to have a rotating camera. The graphics we see in game are all 2D sprites rendered out of the 3D, not the originals.
