This tier list is my opinion, as everyone has their own opinions.

S - Better than fully upgraded.
A - Slight better than fully upgraded (some power bonuses may compensate their not FU status).
B - Generic Fully upgraded.
C - Missing techs, but emphasizes quantity over quality.
D - Missing one crucial tech. No bonuses affect them, and they are not fully upgraded.
F - Missing more crucial techs.

  • Britons are a fair bit below average actually, none of their bonuses/techs apply to Genitours, and they’re missing Thumb Ring, and Bloodlines.
  • Franks are terrible, they have HP, but lack Thumb Ring, Ring Archer, and Bracer.
  • Byzantines aren’t Blast Furnace.
  • Dravidians could possibly move up because of their fire rate, although they are missing a lot of techs.
  • Koreans should be at least one tier higher, their wood discount applies to them.

Yep, also no way any of the American civs are A tier. All missing Bloodlines and Husbandry, Aztecs also missing Thumb Ring and Ring Armor. Their UTs don’t really do enough to make up for that.

Ah, completely forgot about that. Guess because I never use them. Kind of embarrassing, considering I checked my other stuff on the wiki, and didn’t even see that.

i mean in your defense, it is kinda weird that they don’t get affected by the tech. they have the cavalry archer armor class and do benefit from other CA bonuses and techs (Sipahi, recurve bow, etc.)

Agree, except that Parthian Tactics does not apply to Genitours.

So Byzantines are indeed fully upgraded and cheaper, they should be an tier S or A

And I don’t get even why Berbers’ are S tier. They don’t get particular bonus for them, so they should be B tier.

I already edited my post to fix my comments regarding Parthian, so it’s not really relevant anymore to my points I don’t think. I’d guess the logic is just because Berbers give Genitours? But that’s not a good argument, considering we’re assuming that everyone has them for the sake of the tierlist anyway.

S tier : Berbers, Portuguese
A tier : Spanish

Blast Furnace doesn’t apply to genitours, since they use archer attack upgrades. Byzantines have Bracer.

They also lack Bloodlines, and the HP bonus doesn’t fully compensate for it.

Free archer armour techs also applies.

Not quite – no Bloodlines. Arguably A tier though.
