 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.
I joined a 1v1 multiplayer ranked game in the queue. On the loading screen, my game crashed. When I reopened the game to queue up again, I got a message “This account recently disconnected from a matchmaking game early. There is a delay before matchmaking queues are available. you can re-join the queue in xdays xhrs xmin xsec”

I am not sure if this is a bug or intended behavior of this feature, but to penalize a player for the game crashing (I already lose ELO when the game crashes in the loading screen, do I need more penalties in the form of a timeout for your game being unstable?) seems sloppy.

This has happened 2 out of 3 time. Will update if it happens again.

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

 List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Crash your game in the loading screen to start a game. You can increase the chances of crashing the game by installing any Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition update and simply trying to play the game. This is not consistent.

 What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present? I am not sure what I was expecting, this might be a bug, or it might not be a bug, but it seems like a poor feature integration to penalize players for DE crashing.

Wanted to update- this is really annoying. I had to quit a game today at 5 minutes because the game wasn’t responding. When I went to requeue, I got this error again and it made we wait several minutes again before queueing up.

“This account recently disconnected from a matchmaking game early. There is a delay before matchmaking queues are available. you can re-join the queue in xdays xhrs xmin xsec”

I really just want to enjoy the game.

Hey, we are sorry for the inconvenience. Did you try verifying your game on steam, reinstalling it?

yes to both , I did a reinstall shortly after the last update because I was getting a lot of queue issues, of which the reinstall seemed to resolve those, so I have not done it a second time since the discovery of these problems, but it’s been less than a week since the last reinstall.

Thanks for the information, we are now tracking the issue, have a nice day!
