Give Loki Hersir’s speed again, why was this removed in the first place? Loki has had fast Hersir’s forever.
At this point the game has had so many changes and just bringing back some of the original playstyle isn’t a bad idea. I would come back and play again and of course bring back some activity.
Loki´s identity is no longer hersir but all his army. They all develop the MU spawn bar. Also part of the “speedy hersir” dynamic is from forsetti which used to be a flat + 1.1 speed and now is a % increase which was later on also reduced.
If want you want is the old hersir only strats theres more to change for it to work than just loki´s old 10% movement speed bonus.
Whatever they did in AoT, was right, unique and it was fun. It made Loki’s playstyle very different compared to Thor and Odin. With Foresti, you were able to get Hersir’s speed upgrade and LoS upgrade that allowed you to raid and outrun your enemy’s units. Everything made sense because early in the game Hersir’s were very expensive units and you should be able to outrun other cheap units. In Retold you can’t outrun turma or possy’s cav, basically that AoT Loki playstyle was completely removed from Retold.
In fact the changes the dev did for Retold, allowed Thor and Odin players to easily switch over and use Thor and Odin play style with Loki and now benefit from Loki’s special abilities. A few months ago, wasn’t loki considered a top civ? and recently was nerfed. Loki was never meant to be played like Thor/Odin so giving MU spawn bar to other units was pointless.
I’ve played AoT for over 15 years and to completely scrap a playstyle from the game like that was wrong and unfair. I don’t know how long Retold will continue to be supported but every time a patch is released, I return just to check if this update was added but I haven’t seen it. I just think that before you guys end support for this game, please bring back fast Hersir (+LoS ) playstyle so I can return to this game again. =)
This is subjective but i get were you are coming. Loki was never competitively viable and was mostly the dominant god in low levels for many players POV unlike in retold before it was nerfed into the ground.
I get some people enjoy a more RNG aspect of MU spawn than the current one. The AOT playtyle is not removed, its simply weaker.
The whole loki kit makes sense, its simply very nerfed. and parts of it require a higher skill to use. It did change a lot for players that could A move and forget about hersir and just see chaos unfold to have to take advantage of counter units and good micro.

Not really, if anything thor got an even more unique playstyle with the whole dwarf armory enabling extra villagers and armory upgrades. Odin plays the same as he always has.
It prob wont happen, but it doesnt hurt to try, hope loki players get to enjoy their god.
It feels better with the new patch, mu actually get spawned now. Also the buffs to heimdal and forseti makes loki more likely to survive the early game.
I think it would be good to have a bar to show us when the next MU will spawn.
Loki has been so nerfed since the game first came out. He was hit with such massive nerfs that even his small, most recent patch update isn’t enough , he’s still a garbage pick. Seriously, if your goal is winning, steer clear of Loki. Just look at his Norse counterparts: Odin, Thor, and Freyr are all significantly better. What’s Loki’s big selling point? Nothing at all! His Berserks are practically paper, getting shredded instantly by simple archer spam. It’s completely inefficient to bother converting your villagers. Even Loki’s Hersir are pathetically weak against any standard melee unit
A 5% MU spawn speed boost won’t help. Odin and Thor’s Hersirs are 5 times stronger than Loki’s. Loki’s bonus is a multiplier, meaning you shouldn’t build Berserkers or Jarls as Loki.
Yes, with the Forseti upgrade, raiding with Hersirs is quite effective. But I’d like to know how playing Loki differs from playing Odin or Thor. In my opinion, it doesn’t. You just have fewer strategies.
For Loki to compete with Odin or Thor, they should completely remove the favor cost for MU in the Temple.
I like fire giant spam as much as the next guy but let’s not go overboard.
Loki is slightly better now, at least his spawn MU ability works now. But his archaic age upgrade should probably be something better, not that line of sight thing with animals and trees, but rather reduce berserker costs by 10% or something.
How would you compensate for dwarf spam, economic GPs, regeneration, HP, damage, and favor generation bonuses that both gods have? So that there would be an opportunity to repeat the spy at least a second time.
Only the developers decided that Loki berserkers and jarls do not receive any bonus. These are not his units.
Would you want a perfectly balanced game that has little activity, basically considered dead or a game that is balanced enough to still keep the game fun, balanced to still have some kind of connection to the original game, where we can use the old playstyle so that there’s something for everyone and in return have a active community?
A useless upgrade. The developers are very afraid that free MU are too powerful, so they don’t give Loki any economic bonuses. As a result, Loki loses the classic age, and MU are killed by Greek heroes in three hits. I’m not even talking about all the other civs whose heroes make up half their army.
So God can be easy counter with macro.
