# Graphic parameters reset to default each time I close my computer

- **GAME PLATFORM:** Steam
- **OPERATING SYSTEM:** Windows 11

### ▶ ISSUE EXPERIENCED

When I launch AoE3:DE, I must change manually all graphic parameters. For example, shadows are desactivated by defaults. If a close the game and relaunch it immediatly after, the parameters are saved. However, if I turn off my computer, graphic parameters are reset to defaults and I have to change them once again.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Turn on my computer

2. Open steam and launch AoE3:DE

3. Graphic parameters are all messed up, and I must manually set them once again.

### ▶ EXPECTED RESULT

My graphic parameters should be the same each time I launch the game. Modification should be saved.

Hi @Inocybe2755 are you using mods? I can’t reproduce this issue.

No I don’t use any mods !

I am going to investigate if steam or the GeForce software could be the source of my problem.

Do you run steam as admin, or are you using geforce now?

For a reason unknown, I found out that my NVDIA app (I think it was called Geforce Experience before) decided to enforce recommended graphical settings on AoE3:DE. I deactivated the “optimization” of the game, and graphical settings do not change anymore when I launch the game.

Sorry, the problem was on my end 🤭
