Has Age of Empires 2's startup time increased recently or has my computer slowed down? (I use Steam)

I feel like the loading time has increased at least 3 times. The mods I’ve subscribed to have been the same for a long time. I haven’t made any changes. I don’t know why the loading time has increased despite this. I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

When my PC was brand new the game started almost immediately but after just a few months it started to take longer, the time needed can swing a lot though. Sometimes it’s a few seconds, sometimes a whole minute or more.

I feel like the load time has maybe gotten longer over the years, I even moved the game from the D drive to Local disk C to see if it would be better but takes just as long.

Yes, because the game has to load more things (remember that it also has two sub-modes like Return of Rome and Chronicles)… the game could run faster, but on the other hand, it would have to weigh around 50 GB…

This problem I think come from card or image resolution,

Much larger games with way more high resolution assets load significantly faster in my experience.

No idea what is taking so long, it’s not loading all the sprites.

The time has increased on Quickmatch too
The wait is ridiculous for a 20K concurrent players game!
