Absolutely horrible update. Black forest maps have been ruined, resources are not spawning the way they used to.
They changed something with pathing that makes your units do dumb stuff. The attacks for vills and units all changed. Online games lag more in general.
Leave all the visual changes fine, remove all the backend changes. If you completely undid the last 3 updates, everything would be way better.
This game was good 3ish years ago, since then updates have been less about actually improving performance and instead been about pushing new content NONE OF US WANT. Rise of Rome, was an absolute dumpster fire and just was dumb. The DLCs are fine, but you are breaking the core parts of this game that make it fun and its horrible.
Undo the changes to black forest PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING and change the animations back. The new ones are dumb.

I really like new units visuals and castles.
Game is getting better in my point of view. There are some problems ofc but not that bad.
Only thing that bothers me greatly is that its hard to click vills next to a castle foundation to prevent castle drop etc.
If you hold down “Alt” when clicking, you will ignore buildings/resources (including foundations), letting you target units behind much easier, would that solve your problem?
Yeah idk what you are smoking. The new skins are fine, pathing just took a massive noose dive and has my units do dumb stuff all the time now and yeah BF kinda matters for about 1.5k players everyday because its the main map people play against the AI. Visuals are fine, the way that the animations work now are destroying micro and making it harder not better.
Better is a joke. Game is worse off overall, the latest changes are a sign that they are going to destory this IP. People are going back to orignal AOE with mods. So yeah think about that.
Pretty much feel the same here. Game feels like it’s declined since the start of 2023. Haven’t been much of a fan of any of the DLC since then, pathing has been terrible for years, after the new update feels even worse didn’t even know it was possible to get worse. Many bugs in every update. unplayable lag since recent update too.
I was playing yesterday and I had several messages in game about the game not finding files related to the elite eagle warrior and the elite shrivamsha raider. Also I noticed that when the siege elephant attacks it goes transparent, like the attack animation isn’t there
That helps but I still think they need to fix the bug with building foundation clickboxes being the wrong shape in the first place. The fact that there’s a workaround to mitigate the problem doesn’t mean they shouldn’t fix it
