HELP! Strelets are killing me!

You’re making too many Longbows. You only need Longbows if he’s making heavy infantry or light cavalry. If you make more Hussars you will do better.

Hussars are heavy cavalry. In almost all cases in the game heavy cavalry are melee and light cavalry are ranged. In real life Hussars were light cavalry so maybe that’s what it’s referring to.

You have to constantly train Settlers and build Manors to keep your economy growing. Also hunt as long as you can since that gathers fastest.

You just need to focus more on Hussar production. Once you defeat the streams of Strelets, use the Hussars to kill his villagers and burn down his houses. Russia is very vulnerable to losing houses because each batch of Strelets takes up a whole house worth of population. If he doesn’t have population room he won’t be able to make an army even if he can afford it. Hussars and Longbows aren’t good at destroying buildings though, so when you get to that point you’ll want some Musketeers or Falconets to destroy buildings.

i almost dare say mixing a few grenadiers can be helpful lots of time vs russia, the splash dmg is very efficient

In the original game I’m pretty sure hussars, Ulhans and Cossacks were regarded as “light cavalry” because there focus was against light infantry and artillery. Whilst the heavy cavalry, notably Cuirassiers and l
Lancers were capable of taking down some heavy infantry because of their higher hitpoints and multiplers/splash damage.

This got confusing during the counter system when British Life Guard Hussars were having higher hitpoints then lancers but still be regarded as light cavalry. So they changed the tag in the definitive edition.

Yeah I’m definitely in support of grenadiers in the early game especially if paired with a few musketeers. They can be a bit awkward tho. Make sure to try and send the grenadier launchers card, so you can hit and run strelets more easily.

I’m pretty sure they were always heavy cavalry. They just didn’t have a heavy cavalry icon until recently.

Les hussards sur les versions précédentes d’AOE3 étaient aussi bien tag comme cavaleries légères que lourdes

@Jamesagraham5 Those cards aren’t in AoE3; there is no homestead wagon. Sadly.

Wrong. Only the tooltip claimed they were light. They have always been heavy.

  1. Wow that legacy nostalgia . . .

  2. U spam hussars without a fear in age 2, and some longbows when u can. Ur friend should spam a mix of abus and janisary to tank and absorb damage.

Point to be Noted : Longbow and Abus have far far long range than anything russia can have in age 2. use that to ur advantage.

Also, if required don’t get intimidated by strelet quantity, they are quick to #### ### have lesser range and are very weak units. Basically they just have quantity, which u can fight agains with the quality of ur Hussars, abus, janissary and longbows.

Just keep on making hussars/abus as fast as possible, even if it requires sacrificing or skipping a card/research or two. U just have to defend initially , and then just keep producing ur quality units. Ull win.

I do apologies, I forgot they were only introduced in the Definitive Edition. Never the less I believe everything else I’ve mention should still be true.

Apart from this ^ :flushed:

Got a bit myself mixed up through historic texts I’ve been readings.

nah bro, maybe those hussar could raid and then combining 3 unit types would be incredible.

you can send people direct messages in the forum as well

How? When I click on someone’s username, I don’t see an option to message them…

click on the user name, it should pop up a window like this

the message box should be in there

I dont’ know what, but I don’t see that…

Bonsoir, en fait tu clique sur le pseudo de la personne au dessus de ton message pour avoir l’option envoyer un message

Sadly, when I click on the name, there is no option to send a private message.

Is there an option for becoming a member I need to subscribe to, or something, to be able to private message? Next to all your names, it says “Age Insider”. Does that means something?

Est ce que par hasard vous cliquez sur votre pseudo ? désolé si ma question parait idiote.

Après je ne sais pas si le forum demande un minimum de réponse dessus avant de proposer cette option

No, I am clicking on yours… maybe it does require minimum responses… frustrating.
