Free armor helps in early imp. Not late imp. By late imp its already researched by everyone, and the advantage is neutralized and italians are where they are strongest.

Projectile speed increase provides benefits others dont have, reduces the benefit of ballistics and boosts their late game beyond where it already is.

OK then Foot Archer projectiles 100% faster from Castle Age?

Do you seriously think anyone would consider 100% invrease in projectiles speed is a legitimately good buff?

They wont, I know, i used it as a hypothetical for the purpose of making my argument.

But why, if you really read my replies you would see that it’s not how fast the projectiles are the problem, but the bonu itself, it seems that you are just saying numbers at random.

Now I’ll explain one more time, after researching ballistics, if you don’t increase the rate of fire (the number of arrows an archer fire) you don’t benefit from faster arrow, because they will however hit their target with ballistics, so you can even spped it up to 200% but the only effect you would have is that you won’t see the arrows, but the damage and accuracy would still be the same.

His argument was valid. Increased projectile speed means it gets to its target faster and is less likely to miss. This impacts the power of ballistics. Does it remove it? No. But it makes it less of a priority

Nope this is simply not true, for HC, they will become more accurate.
For Xbows and GC, they will hit Cavalry more often
even after ballistics
Not to mention at the PRO level, it will render dancing splits less useful(which you agree on)

For units that move really fast(cavalry) even ballistics arrows fall short of them sometimes. If you look very closely.

The HC have a low base accuracy, it means that 50% of the time the shot is inaccurate from the time of leaving the cannons, faster speed would mean faster missing.

GC already have near 100% accuracy even before TR, and, as I already said, it would still be a small window of time with a effect weaker than ballistics.
