Liu Bei (Shu), Cao Cao (Wei), Sun Jian (Wu). A hero with 4000 HP is silly for ranked. That’s what I remember they will have. If heroes must be in the game the following changes need to happen.
It should be something like 500 HP, that’s still 100 less than a Persian War Elephant. Factor in only one can be on the map at a time. They can have it a much cheaper recruitment cost if necessary. But since they are limited to one so it should not be too insane.
If too strong. Hero should be quite frankly be banned in ranked.
They aren’t as broken I thought they were. I was thinking they had 4k HP. Since they cost 500 food and 500 gold, it should be less insane when than I thought they were. Granted, the hero probably still should be banned for ranked play.
That’s the whole problem with the post, assuming 10x more hp and probably also forgetting that only ONE of them can be produced. There’s nothing broken or overpowered about that one Hero to ban in ranked. A unit line with similar effect exists today for Romans and its not even produced most of the games. Like many others have pointed out, most games won’t reach that stage where all techs have been researched and fully upgraded gold units are fighting in one area. And even in such fights, three kingdom civ units fighting within their Hero’s aura will still get clapped by units like Mangudai, Leitis and a dozen other powerful unique units. Those civs have many tech tree weaknesses and the Hero effect is barely a compensation for it.
