Hoplitae, Minotaur and Bellerophon attack animation

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well!

  1. It’s probably not just me who noticed the attack animation of the hoplites in the new AOM; these attacks are very similar to the attacks of the spearmen from the Egyptian civilization in the classic AOM. I’m referring to the quick thrusting motion they make with the spear. The old hoplite used both the shield and spear in the attack, whereas in AOM Retold, they just do a repetitive motion in all of their attacks.

Also, the spear feels very light when striking, which was something I disliked about the Egyptian spearmen in classic AOM as well, because there, too, the strikes were made as if the spears were made of cardboard, lacking weight.

  1. The Minotaur’s axe faces the same issue. Although it’s beautiful and visually stunning, when the Minotaur strikes, the double axe feels like it’s made of Styrofoam.

Perhaps the hoplite attack animation was left like this temporarily to avoid extra work, and they just copied the one from the spearmen, or do the developers intend to keep both with the same attack animation?

  1. The attack movement of Bellerophon, the hero, is now exactly like the attack of the Valkyrie in classic AOM, and the attack of the Prodromoi when their horses raised both front legs to strike. The damage occurred before the animation actually made contact with the enemy. This gives a strange feeling that something is wrong.

In this case, I would really like them to revert the attack animation of Bellerophon to the old one, where the damage occurred at the exact moment the tip of his spear touched the enemy.
