How do I add people to my clan and why is everything so bugged?

I’m trying to add a player to my clan but when i search his name i get either a blank screen or 3 dudes with a similar name.
I can’t find him on steam because there are many users with the same name.
I can’t even send him a message because for some reason you can’t make a chat room in the game.

Also the friends list is completely useless. It just shows their names but you can’t click to message them, invite them or view their profile.

I don’t mean to rant but this is ridiculous
