How should Civilizations be designed by AoE4?

You understand this, yet you ask the doctor to be a trash unit, making monks 100% useless

I remember AOE 3 did this with Surgeons in Ottomans, but they were only healing units and could build a healing camp

I use Conversion, I said about invade a City and Conquer that city when my Soldiers attack the Center Town and claim all the city for me, Conversion need 100% faith from a priest to convert, when i fight like that i need an army of Monks and this is Ridicullous to make, plus in the AoE II you can’t convert buildings so it can’t do make my idea.

When i Have time i will see if thereĀ“s a Mod for that, and if does’nt exist i will see if i can create

A not bad idea, that can be a new optional game mode, without to break the balance and easy to make by using existing mechanic. So on default Monks should not convert buildings, but for custom games.

Problem is if doctor cost same as monk, with same healing power, he will be useless.

So
Monk 100 gold / heal 1 HP per 0.4 seconds/ convert units
Doctor 100 gold / heal 1 HP per 0.4 seconds
Doctor would be useless.

Well what option you do find better? just something where he is optional.
1 Doctor 50 gold / heal 1 HP per 0.4 seconds
2 Doctor 50 gold / heal 1 HP per 0.3 seconds
3 Doctor 100 wood and 100 food / heal 2 HP per 0.5 seconds
4 Doctor 50 gold / 50 wood heal 1 HP per 0.4 seconds

Anyway my point was, what can be added to the game, to increase variety, without to break the balance.

We do not need healers in AOE. This is not a MOBA. Monks are ok for some minimal healing, increasing in total when stacked.

You are right, AoE4 should maintain core concepts of AoE2.

Wrong, you need a tech in the monastery

It called redemption and convert siege weapons and most buildings but it can’t convert the Town Centers!

Checked the info now

TCs and Castles I think

That would be a dick move if you could man

 that“s why it should be better if this was a mod or game mode instead of the official game

Like it was a capture the flag (capture the City) on the new game, like the Cruzaders on the Crusades

I believe every AoE game has healing.

There is a game mod in Dracula campaign that gives the control of a bunch of buildings to the player unit on the torch in the middle of that area (Mission 2) So it it will be possible I guess

The answer is simple- by not listening to everything fans want. Listen to us only about, let’s say 15%. We have nonsensical arguments, and practically ā– ā– ā– ā–  ideas. So don’t ruin your game by wholely listening to us.

I agree to an extent, the vocal forum crowds always bring the worst ideas to the table. Thankfully pros are already playing AOE4 behind the scenes, so I think its in good hands.

Indeed. You do you have pro guy who even know freaking damage per second ratio per unit!!! play testing the game. Plus Relic also makes their employees play their game. I read that during COH 2 interview.

Yes, no more blood.lol.

Thay better add slavic nations not like thay did in aoe 2 were we have ā€˜ā€˜SLAVS’’( Poland,Russia would be nice start), italians ,hungarians, romanians and Baltic states not just f… England.

Yeah because Slavs are too entitled. There are countless more interesting nations to have than slavic ones, be glad you have one.

so much about your knowledge of history. I didn’t say it would be interesting to the f English people, I said it because of the players from Eastern Europe u i… why it would be more interesting to play as an Englishman than a Poles or Russian? are u braindead

΄οu can play as slavs, that should be enough. You dont need 100 slav subfactions in a video game. English people what? You can play as Britons in AOE2, not sure why you hate english lol

Well what he means is that reducing a whole bunch of countries to just ā€œslavsā€ it’s absurd. Like using Great Britain as a nation when actually is made by a bunch of countries such as Scotland and England. At least pick one of them and name it properly. Russians would be a nice add, they were cool in AoE III.

For the amount of civilizations i think they will go for the magic number of 10. People complain so much about this like if they were going to launch with just 6 or 7 civs instead 13 like Age II but 10 it’s a whole nice number for me, considering that they DEFINITELY are going to add more civs with an Expansion or DLC pack in the future.

For the civilizations, the wide spectrum and differences that Isgreen was talking about, i believe that this will be the list more or less:

English
French
Turks / Ottomans
Russians
Japanese /Chinese (i hope the first ones)
Aztecs /Mayans
Mongols
Germans
Persians
Vikings

It’s a nice bunch of civs to start playing with and they have the right amount of culture content and differences to create a decent range of variance and different gameplay styles.
