I would like to make a mod which skips the intro video.
In game.cfg there is a value //noIntroCinematics which when I uncomment it skips the intro cinematics (but multiplayer is not possible anymore).
However if I try to create a mod with this it nothing happens. I did the following:
- create a folder in the mods -> local folder with the mod name
- There I created a startup folder and in this folder I put the updated game.cfg
Any hints how to make this work? I never did a mod so I have no idea if it works like that but looking at other mods it should
I just experimented with this and you can do it easily… but then you can’t play online
Did you do it exactly like I tried above with a mod and it worked for you or directly in the steam file?
But then I couldn’t join any games.
I got the noIntroCinematics to work by creating a user.cfg file under C:\Users\Games\Age of Empires 3 DE\Startup

What you did worked fine for me, I put it to C:\Users\USERNAME\Games\Age of Empires 3 DE\76561198086350485\Startup
I was able to join a lobby in casual and I was also able to start a ranked game. I am using the steam version btw
Yeah that works. You just can’t edit a cfg file within the install folder.
