As for the colouring, they could still be jaguars. Panthers aren’t a species by themselves, they are cats that have a very dark (almost black) coat colour from too much melanin. They can be leopards or jaguars.
The panthers would have to exclusively be jaguars because of their locations.
That is jaguars being a lot closer to Mexico than it is for leopards.
even this is a fair criticism i think its a bit too detailed. - do all other units look 100% accurate?
i can partly understand the critique about the snout part but the whiskers are really way too detailed and you wouldn’t even notice/see them 99% of the time. its still an RTS and not a RPG or ARPG i think you get what i mean. - i value your posts so i don’t want to get misunderstood.
In the early screenshots the Jaguars are obviously orange with spots, so im assuming the black panther look is an upgrade indicator (heavy/champ) or connected to a myth technology.
I like the face shape comparisons, but I dont know if it would be noticeable in-game. Would be cool if they changed it though.
